Sbicca: A Staple of Del Mar Dining

Award Winning Dishes and Wine List in the Heart of Del Mar at Sbicca

“Too many people just eat to consume calories. Try dining for a change.” -John Walters

Sbicca Del Mar

Sbicca is one of our family’s most favorite restaurants in Del Mar. It’s a wonderful place to go for a drink with friends or for dinner with someone special. Sbicca is known for their farm-fresh California cuisine, and it is very well known around the neighborhood of Rancho Santa Fe and Del Mar. I had the opportunity to sit down with managing partner Amanda Smith to talk more about the restaurant, a few signature dishes, and what makes this location extremely special. Here’s what she had to say:

My favorite dish at Sbicca is the Korean Beef Lettuce Wraps with strawberry, cucumber and mint. It is the perfect blend of meat, lettuce and seasonings and goes so well with a cocktail from the bar. They are also well known for their burger, short ribs, scallops, lobster bisque, and tomato salad.  They have an extensive wine list, and some really terrific deserts as well!  Sbicca has a wonderful patio where you can enjoy the view of the ocean, and they also have a private room you can reserve for a private party or event. Stop by today to enjoy a bottle of wine and a wonderfully delicious meal with great company.

Sbicca has a number of areas where you can hold your private events from small groups to over 100 people.  One of your favorite aspects of the restaurant is free corkage on Sunday and Monday, where you can bring your own bottle of wine with no corkage.  They also have half-priced wines every Tuesday and Thursday.  Due to the close proximity with the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, the have many horse racing fans and owners who frequent the restaurant in season.

Have you been there? What is your favorite dish?
