Crudo is the Only Restaurant in Pacific Highlands Ranch That Offers Valet Parking
Where is Crudo?
Crudo is located in the Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch. (Read more about Pacific Highlands Ranch here!) This area is a great place for families in Carmel Valley to spend a Saturday afternoon, or any evening dining with the family. As soon as you drive down the main entrance to the Village, you come to the most popular corner, where three delicious restaurants compliment each other and attract most of the visitors walking by.
What Other Restaurants are Close By?
On the corner closest to Crunch Fitness, you have Westroot, known for their Mac n Cheese Mondays (read all about it here!) and their buzzing bar atmosphere. You can invite your friends over to Westroot to enjoy drinks and watch the latest sports game. Diagonal from Westroot you have Dolce, a restaurant that has incredible flatbread pizzas, salads, steaks, and an extensive wine list. (Look through my delicious photos of Dolce here!) Westroot is known to be a bit more casual, whereas Dolce is more formal. Although both Westroot and Dolce have their perks, Crudo, on the corner across from Dolce and Westroot, offers Carmel Valley versatility with its Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine, and valet parking!
What Can You Eat?
The menu at Crudo is based on the flavors from the Mediterranean coast, with Japanese-inspired infusions. My favorite item on the menu is the “Crudotinis” which are small bites of different flavors on top of a crostini. I always get the short rib Crudotini, that comes with a hazelnut and an apple slice. The other two that I gravitate toward are the burrata and tomato Crudotini, and the prosciutto and ricotta flavored option. Most of the dishes at Crudo are gluten free, and there are several Vegan options to choose from as well. They are known for their Mediterranean rolls, and chef Pascal Lorange (read all about him here) makes a special platter of 10 to sample if you’re not sure which options you’d like.
My favorite appetizer is the Burrata and Heirloom Tomato Dish. The burrata is creamy and goes well with the heirloom tomatoes. All of the dishes here at Crudo are simple but elegant. Another incredible dish is the Coconut Chilean Sea Bass, a delicious fish cooked in coconut milk with a cilantro lime juice. They also have steak and calamari on the menu, along with a saffron seafood paella dish and a white truffle chicken dish.
Events and Classes
Crudo always has something fun going on, whether it’s taking part in a “Village restaurants” event or hosting a cooking class. They host cooking classes every two weeks, check out their site for more information about classes. One interesting thing they do with the classes, is that when you take a class, you become a “Crudo member” and each month a gift is sent to your home! The chef at Crudo takes pride in his simple flavor combinations, and the restaurant is always looking for new ways to bring guests in to experience what they have to offer.
Whether you’re looking for a casual lunch with the girls or a celebratory evening out with the family, Crudo’s menu and modern design will have you coming back time and time again. What is your favorite dish at Crudo? If you haven’t been there yet, make sure to check out their menu here. Try to reserve a table if you’re coming to dine on a weekend, as it gets pretty busy.
